Field Trips at
The Farmyard offer a great "hands on" learning experience. So bring yer
little cowboys & cowgals out for some old fashion fun with our USDA
Licensed petting zoo, enjoy a pony or horse ride and go for a hay ride!
PLEASE feel free
to touch just about everything!
Except
the Cactus!

With soft, gentle hands you can:
- feel
woolly lambs
- compare
breeds of sheep, we have Black Suffolk, Black Hawaiian & Dorper
- pet
sleek goat kids
- our
goats are Nubian, Spanish, Boer X
- feel the
bristly hair on our cute 3+3+3+3+ little pigs (and count
their little piggies!)

Miniature Vietnamese Pot-belly pigs
-
- Compare
them to Hampshire pigs
- feel
Daffy Ducks web feet and compare them to
- Chicken
Little's feet

- pet a
silly wabbit (so soft!)
- watch a
turkey trot (ha ha! Maybe)
- get a
"cowlick" for good luck! (if yer lucky!)

- dodge
cow patties

- pet the
llamas
- feel the
emu's long soft feathers
- don't
pick up the little green "horse" apples

- check
out all the different cows & calves
- we have
Holstein, Jersey, Angus (at present)
- watch a
milking demonstration
I can show you how we milk by hand or machine.
I started learning how to tend dairy cows just as I was turning 10 years old
when I was blessed to live across the street from a Dairy in Germany. Based
upon milk availability (target times are approx. 10am & 1pm depending on
farm related happenings)
- brush a
pony

- check
out those long donkey ears!
- Compare
a miniature horse to a huge Percheron Draft horse
- See & Learn
the difference between miniature horses, ponies, horses, and draft horses.
- Climb up
the ladder into the hay loft (while chaperons stand by ladder)
- Go for a
nature hike out in the pasture with your chaperon
- Bring
your camera and get your picture taken on a pony or horse (Polaroid pictures
for sale)
- RSVP to
sit on "Cowboy the Ox" or "Dallas the Miniature Bull" for an
additional fee. Great photo opportunity!
- Wash yer
hands after visiting the USDA licensed petting zoo and as many times as you
like while yer here!

- Wear
closed toed shoes or boots
Chaperons:
Please have your children pet our animals
along their back only. The animals will appreciate it if you
don't pet their heads and ears.

Field Trips are available Tuesday through Friday by reservation with $160 minimum
[$4/guest] for advance bookings.
Please have a
"free" chaperone per:
3-4 children ages 3-4 yrs
5-6 children
ages 5-6 yrs
7-10 children ages 7 and up
Photo on pony or horse with your camera
included in Field Trips!
Pony or Horse Ride you lead: Field

Photo with your camera on "Dallas" the Miniature Bull:

For
smaller groups we can reserve the The Family Hour or
Get-Together for
you.
